Community work

I strive to make our society and in particular the mathematical and STEM community more inclusive, diverse and equitable. Everyone should feel seen and heard and have a space in the community. Also, I try to challenge stereotypes, especially regarding Gender, Hierarchy and Tradition.

The Vienna School of Mathematics is a joint doctoral school of the University of Vienna and the TU Vienna. I am a member of the student board, organizing both mathematical and social events and acitivites for the VSM students. For instance I was involved in the mentoring program and in the launch of the Buddy Group initiative.

I serve as a student representative in the Doctoral Study Conference of the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna. In that capacity I was for example involved in improving the onboarding process of new PhD employees. 

DEI Working Group

The Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna has installed a working group for Diversity, Equity and Inlcusion. We recommend that the Faculty installs the position of a Vice Dean for Gender, Equity and Inclusion. Our recommendation includes a job description as well as a list of suggested initiatives, measures and actions to take.
