To whom it may concern,
Alex has always been super eager to support the students here at PHSC. Most people in a field like this consider helping students as a part of their job, but she has always had compassion towards the helping part and was honest while giving the best career advice.
Recently I was going through some difficulties making a decision about my career and I was having second thoughts about my path. Without any hesitation I wrote Alex an email, and she welcomed me with open arms to help guide me and answer any questions I had. Regardless of her busy schedule, she made some time for me, which might not seem like much, but it matters a lot. As a student we have questions all the time and when there is somebody willing to work with you whenever you need the help, is the reason we feel welcome and greatly appreciate the people that make the time for us. To go above and beyond, she didn’t just talk with me alone, she invited one of the professors who was in the field at this time and informed me if I wanted some more information I could always talk to him. She helped me build a connection with the professor and develop a relationship from which I could succeed. After our meeting, she followed up with me and sent me helping material to give me a clearer picture of my career of choice. That day I felt extremely happy and lucky that we, students at PHSC, had staff like Alex that we could count on.
Alex has been super involved with helping the students by various methods. She joined the student government at various events to talk and inform the students of the great things the career services had to offer at that time. Often times she would join us on our weekly college wide student government meetings and say hi to all the students and update us on everything that career services are doing for us students. Alex has a personality that definitely attracts students. When students have any questions, most of us without feeling shy go to Alex and feel as comfortable as can be. Over my years at PHSC, I have been helped by many people on various levels and whenever I needed help, Alex was always there to help me and was one of the people I could rely on.
Thank you Alex,
Kind Regards,
Ali Shariq
