I’m a proud Queens, NY native, raised by a New Yorker schoolteacher and an English-born cook and baker. With that mix, I grew up surrounded by international travel, family, storytelling and inspiration. While I always knew I wanted to work with people, I never imagined education and counseling would become my path.
I earned my BFA in Broadcast Journalism from Long Island University/C.W. Post campus, where I first connected with my Career Center as an undergraduate student seeking an internship. I once again utilized their services upon graduating as I was starting my full-time career search. I worked for a year in marketing and PR but found myself meeting again with my Career Counselor. That experience shaped me in ways I didn’t expect - within months I found myself back at my alma mater, this time on the other side of the desk, launching my career in higher education.
I began as an Experiential Learning Coordinator, helping students secure internships - a full circle moment. That role sparked my interest in counseling, leading me to explore a master's in School and Mental Health Counseling. I pursued the guidance school counseling path, earning a K–12 School Counseling certification. Along the way, I gained hands-on experience in schools and mental health facilities, but I chose to stay rooted in career services - a field that perfectly combines my love of guiding others with my background in communication and curiosity.
Over the years, I’ve expanded my expertise with certifications in the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Keirsey Temperament, and the Strong Interest Inventory®. My career has taken me from Long Island University to the University of Central Florida, and now to the Tampa Bay area, where I continue to support career development and readiness.
Outside of work, I enjoy culture and creativity - whether that’s exploring local festivals, listening to live music, browsing farmers markets, experimenting with crafts, or snapping pics as an amateur photographer.
Lovey is a 7-year-old standard poodle. She was rescued from a life of breeding and found her forever home with me in 2023. Most of the time you can find us at a dog park, walking a trail or at a dog beach.
With over 20 years in higher education, I have experience with Career Services and Student Advising. I have worked at public and private institutions and State/Community college assisting undergraduate through post-doctoral students and alumni. I have been on student and employer facing teams within Career Services and served as a generalist as well as specialist for numerous majors and programs.
I first worked for USF from 2012-2013 as an undergraduate Pathway Advisor for the INTO USF program, working with international students. While I loved advising students on their classes and programs, I returned to my passion of Career Services at another institution and eventually found my way back to USF in 2023 at The Center for Career & Professional Development.
