Our pull toy project was based around the shape and design of the chameleon. The tongue motion was made by using a crank & slider to move the tongue in & out. We used a cam & follower to make the hat move up & down. The tail was made by using a 18 hole tread sticking out of the back. We used the green tank treads for the powering of all the mechanisms.
Alexander (head of design) - I built the tank treads to the exact measurement and also built & designed the part from which the sting comes out of. I came up with the decoration and created the design of the tail and also fixed the design of the main body.
Liam (founder of idea) - He designed the pull toy by making it based on a chameleon. He also built the cam & follower for the hat moving up and down.
Wilfrido (head of contruction) - He built & designed the crank & slider for the tongue. He also designed the tongue.
Dayrian (fixer) - He built & designed the jaw and the head. He helped built and designed the tongue.
Problem - The only major problem that the group ever had with the project was that, we wanted to connect the head to the the cam & follower which would still have gone with the hat on top moving up and down with this system we would've had the head and the hat moving up and down. During the construction, however, we ran into the problem of not having enough space for the head to be moving up & down.
Solution - We had to reverse engineer the head so that it would fit in the extra space that we had whilst not allowing it to move.
