With the final film poster we first started with the idea we had of kepping the poster relatively simplistic but with a strong image representing the film. This is why we chose a skull and a rose to represent the characteristics of the film and how to the star ella that she feels it is life or death. I first got all the equipment we needed that included a canon DSLR camera, a tri-pod and the lightbox from the photography studio with a plain black background. I then set up the skull and rose on a platform adjusting the hieght of the tripod so both props and camera were eye-level with eachother, after i drirected the lights in the lightbox so they were facing the front of the props to eliminate any conflicting shadows we did not want. I took many diffrent photos from many angles but the ones frm eye-level turned out the best and worked well since the skull looks like it is looking right back at the viewer.
After we had chosen the picture we wanted to do we then went to photoshop to edit the skull and rose editing them on to a completley black background using the magic wand tool making the props more eye-catching with less shadows. We then edited the colours
Finally we we used indesign to reach the final out come by first getting the image after we completed it on photoshop and putting in the centre of the page and with the chosen font (Van Helsing) made the title of the film memento mori go on the top and right hand side of the image. This is the same with the phrase underneath Trigger Warning but below the image with a line going through both words. After that i included most of everyone who was included in the production but in smaller white writing. I chose the Van Helsing text to be red following our chosen colour scheme of mostly black and red with the red representing blood.
I think in general im happy with the out come of the final poster and love how it in a way represents the film without looking too much with the skull like a horror film being balenced out by the rose. I think the text is fitting to the scary situation the girl found herself in and the contrast of the colour scheme making the poster really eye catching.
