This unit will set the tone for the entire course. It is designed to teach the foundations of digital literacy and the use of internet browsers, hardware, and networking. It also establishes the ongoing project of the ePortfolio.
Unit 0 was the introduction to the CSIT 101 course and helped to set the tone for the entire course. I first learned how my Professor had organized the course, and it was different than any of the other courses I have taken. I learned that you can't move ahead to another unit until you finish the first unit. I also found the videos really helpful in each unit.
I also learned about CC and BCC and their different uses. For CC, you would use it if you want someone to be aware of the email chain but not necessarily reply. For a BCC, you could attach a bunch of people to an email chain, and no one would be aware of the other people.
This unit was also very helpful in creating my own signature file, which I had never done before, and setting up a useful rule to clean up my inbox from spam emails from the system.
