Disclaimer.
This work of fiction is inspired by historical events, but significant liberties have been taken with the portrayal of these events. The characters involved are creations of the author's imagination and any resemblance to persons living or deceased is purely coincidental. While real-world incidents may serve as a backdrop, the story presented within these pages is entirely fictional.
The author acknowledges the sensitivity surrounding the production, testing, evaluation, dispersal and disposal of defoliants, specifically in the time leading up to, during and after the US involvement in what is generally referred to as the ‘Vietnam War’.
The author also acknowledges that the discovery, and subsequent disposal, of the barrels of herbicide (Agent Orange) buried under the runway of Bor Phai Airport (Hua Hin Airport) in 1999 did not pose any threat to the local population, nor does it today.
The references to WikiLeaks in this work was contrived for the purposes of the story telling and, to the authors knowledge, doesn’t exist. However, the author would like to acknowledge the research done by individuals on this subject, most notably Kurt Priessman in his report ‘Herbicide Use In Thailand’. For those interested, this 20 page document provides a comprehensive introduction on this subject and events of that era and can be found here -
