爬虫類とのトレーニングでChange Makers Medalをいただきました。大変名誉なことです。

このメダルは、チェンジメーカーズ財団より、アニマルウェルフェアに献身的に尽くしてきた人に与えられるものです。

CAAWT Membership Shelter and Zoo Conferenceで行った「Building Trust with Reptiles through the Constructional Approach（コンストラクショナルアプローチを通して築く爬虫類との信頼関係）」のプレゼンテーションをうけ、爬虫類との科学的アプローチに基づいたトレーニングの世界的な先駆者としていただきました。世界で15人目だそうです。

Change Makers Award Presentation Speech

Mika is being awarded the Change Makers Medal of Honor. She is among a handful of awardees in the world to receive one from the Change Makers Foundation Board of Directors.

The Medal of Honor is only given to people who have been dedicated to animal welfare and the welfare of others at great personal cost and as a core principle of their work, compassion, and passion. Nominees are considered as a result of the body of their work over the arc of their lifetime or those who create a pivot point for the husbandry and wellbeing of animals around the world. Medals are bestowed only by unanimous decision and not bestowed to those who will leverage the recognition for market share.

The Foundation was formed in 2009 from the concept of recognizing people who are deeply dedicated to bettering the welfare of all living beings and who often go unrecognized for the body of their work. Both the Board of Directors and the nominee selection process are private to protect the award system from the pressures of corporate influence and/or public opinion which are not in alignment with the mission and core principles of being a Change Maker: compassion, excellence, commitment, philanthropy, courage, and resilience.

People who receive this medal are those not seeking recognition for their work, but those who are quietly working to improve the world, work and welfare of others.
