My top 5 strengths have helped me build a reputation among colleagues, friends, and acquaintances. I have worked hard to strengthen my values and do not get discouraged when others might point them out as negative traits. I am grateful for the feedback provided by others and take them on as a challenge to improve my skills. I can see how these qualities might seem like people can take advantage of me, but they aren’t seeing beyond the negativity. I have persevered to prove that the traits I have are strong in leadership.
Reflecting on my strengths and understanding them has built confidence in myself to continue improving my skills and to keep an eye on my weaknesses. Gathering feedback from my peers and mentor will encourage me to develop my skills to greater levels. It will help me strive for next-level leadership and be prepared to navigate difficult situations that may arise.
Caring & Honesty
Caring: I am the type of person who genuinely cares to know how someone is doing. When I am around someone having a tough day, I will go out of my way to help them feel supported, heard, or happy. Before making a decision, I take into consideration how it will affect those around me. If a decision negatively affects the people around me, I will not proceed and will look to find a direction that does not negatively impact everyone.
Honesty: I cannot hide my feelings, as my facial expressions often speak for me before I say a word. I believe being honest is a big part of who I am, and when I converse with someone, I want them to know that my response is my truth and how I perceive the conversation, while staying respectful. I value productive criticism as I know it comes from a place that will help me grow. I want to know that those in my inner circle are reliable and that they know I will not lie. In tough moments of honesty, I am cautious with my words to avoid causing offense.
My values reflect the person I am and those who are around me do not need to take my word but rather experience them first hand. When I have had the opportunity to lead other I demonstrated them that I am a caring person and that I value honesty. Having open and transparent conversation helps built trust and credibility. I stive to be a helping hand and provide support to demonstrated that I care and believe in the work we are doing. My commitment to my values not only help guide me but also helps me set the standards for those around me.

Transformational Theories
A leader who builds relationships in order to work together with their team to achieve outcomes (East, 2018, p. 22). This leadership style not only grows the potential of the leader but also of their team. This theory speaks to my style of leadership as I thrive on seeing people succeed and knowing that we are all working on growth provides excitement in what we are accomplishing.
As I reflected on the qualities I have seen in a leader who has influenced, encouraged, and built trust in me, I had a role model of what a great leader is. She is a leader who influences those around her with a caring heart and takes time to know the people on her team. In moments where one lacks motivation, she finds ways to encourage them and helps them find opportunities for growth. She takes time to acknowledge your work and listens to your ideas. Her way of managing a team has impacted the way I see leadership, and I am grateful to have an incredible role model in my path.
The image selected to accompany my vision statement is one that seems to have a target. In the center of the image, you can see the light. I found it relatable as I want to be a person who brings hope to others. The colors in the image are bright and present, all encompassed by the circle. This, to me, represents how if you are in my reach, I will be there to support and not judge. I created the image using an AI generator.
