This is a very recent family photo shoot of my husband's family. Lillie, Isaak, Scott, Caroline, Zach, Aleanna, & Noah (Left to Right)
My name is Aleanna Ortiz (she/her/hers) and I sometimes go by Ale. I grew up in Riverside and have not done a whole lot of moving around. I have been dabbling around with my career choice since 2018 so I have come a long way in my efforts to become an elementary school teacher. One of many strong suits is my ability to get along with children. I often would babysit for my aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, which I believe contributed to my love for children. Something in particular that excites me about GEO-4 is the idea that I will be able to teach efficiently and effectively. Something that most classes do not teach you is how to actually teach or what resources to use. So the idea that I will not only learn about geology but also how to be a teacher is a win win for me. Something that worries me about GEO-4 is the idea of self-grading. I feel as though I am a good student, but what if I am not as good as I think I am. Some of my passions include golfing, scuba diving and volleyball. I recently got into golfing with my husband; we just started lessons towards the beginning of January 2022. Scuba diving is something that makes me feel so free. It is a little harder to go, as I work and go to school fulltime but I am planning a trip to go to the red sea with my family. I am terrible at most sports but I am the least bad at volleyball; I think that's why I like it so much.
This is Willow, she has been in our family for a little over a year. She is an aussidoodle (Australian Shepered & a Poodle). Willow LOVES food/treats, which makes her easy to train. She knows how to sit, lay down, high five, play dead, jump high, and eat gently out of your hand.
This is Tobias (Toby), the newest member of our family. He is a mini bernedoodle (Bernese Mountain Dog & Mini-Poodle). We adopted him on February 18th 2022. He is a little over 4 months old. He is super playful and is such a cuddle bug.
