Letter from the President
Dear Fellow Chapter I Members,
What a year it has been! As I look back on my term as President of our chapter, I am so proud of how y’all have shown up. We had an amazing Networking Breakfast and a November Conference and Dinner that I will remember for years to come. You have made this such a wonderful experience!! And our Executive Council remains one of the hardest working group of women I have ever had the pleasure to know. I am forever grateful for their very significant contributions to making these events happen (and keeping me grounded!!) We could not have had the successes we have had over this past year without them, I guarantee it!!
We just completed our annual Spring Workshop, and I have to tell you, I couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. The presentations were outstanding, and the members in attendance were so interactive! It made for a rich and informative day. Our lunch was sponsored by MedPro South which allowed us to keep the cost of attendance very low for our members, so please look them up and let them know how grateful we are for their support. Lunch was catered by Franks Italian, and the reviews were all positive with a request to have that again next year! If you have a presentation you’d like to share with us, please consider volunteering to present for next year’s workshop. It’s never too early to start planning!!
I want to again congratulate Cassie Parker on becoming our next Vice President/President-Elect and Katie Beu on becoming our next Secretary! It’s so exciting to see new members step up and get involved in building our Chapter. Courtney McKinnon will be our new President, and she already has all kinds of ideas to make next year even better! We will have openings on committees to make all of our events happen, keep us informed, and continue to grow the chapter so it best serves us all, so please throw your hat in the ring and let us know you are interested! We’d love to have you!
And in reflecting on the past year, I would personally like to send heartfelt gratitude for Tonya Brogden’s efforts as our Treasurer to get us up and running. Unfortunately she was unable to complete her term due to unforeseen obligations that have arisen. I really enjoyed working with her, and I wish her the very best. So we will have a new election for a new Treasurer coming up. Thank you to all who have sent in nominations. Please be sure to vote when the email comes out. We love a big turnout no matter what we are doing!
I look forward to continuing to serve you next year as Immediate Past President, so don’t hesitate to say hi at the conference next year or shoot me an email if you have something you’d like to contribute. I love hearing from you all!
With much appreciation and profound respect,
Michelle Bolton, LPC-S
