My name is Alben Sayer and I am a young queer artist with a passion for comics, specifically ones with balanced representation of marginalised communities.
In my work I prefer to draw animals as they are a huge source of nostalgia and comfort for me; My art career started with drawing animals when I was much younger and actually brought me back into drawing full time.
My pronouns are they/them.

Digital art has become my main medium over the past few years. I use MediBang, a free digital art app that is available on both mobile and desktop. This app is brilliant for beginners and professionals alike due to how simple and fun it is to use.
With digital art, my two main devices are my phone and tablet. My phone is just a simple iPhone 7, whereas my tablet is specifically designed for art. It is a Simbans Picassotab which, while cheap, is still one of the best devices that I use.
On average a piece can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, if I am particularly interested in a piece then it will take much less time. I typically use the regular pen tool for most of my work, but for soft gradients, I enjoy using a custom soft watercolour brush. Another favourite brush of mine is another custom one called flat brush (wet), which is amazing for digital painting.
Traditional art is the medium I started with and I also find it the most enjoyable. During my early years of starting, I used a brand of alcohol markers called ProMarkers; They are relatively well known but much less expensive when compared to brands such as Copics.
I also enjoy using watercolours with my marker drawings to create mixed media pieces. I fell in love with watercolours after one year, I was gifted with some watercolour tubes for Christmas. While I typically use digital art for my more professional pieces, I still very much love to use traditional mediums in my spare time.
