Important Dates

October

• 1st - Auditions Packet Release Date

• 14th - Interest Meeting at Monticello High School (7:00PM in the Band Room, Do0r A4)

  • • • • A parent/guardian MUST accompany members to the meeting regardless of previous involvement with ACIP.

        • Please fill out the interest form to help ACIP Staff prepare for auditions and for the upcoming season.

• 18th - Percussion Workshop at Monticello High School (9AM to 12PM, in the Band Room, Do0r A4)

  • • • • The workshop is optional for anyone who is thinking about auditioning for ACIP. This is a great opportunity to work with the instructors and ask questions prior to the audition.

        • For all performers. Half of the time will be spent on Body/Visual Techniques and the other half will be spend on Percussion Techniques. Highly recommend participating if you are auditioning for Battery or Visual. There will be a visual component to the audition.

• 25th - Percussion Workshop at Monticello High School (10AM to 2PM, in the Band Room, Do0r A4)

  • • • • The workshop is optional for anyone who is thinking about auditioning for ACIP. This is a great opportunity to work with the instructors and ask questions prior to the audition.

        • We will review and continue working on what was learned at the first workshop. We will also explore some new techniques and continue growing  your visual and percussion skills/vocabulary.

November

• 9th and 11th - Auditions at Monticello High School from 5:00PM to 7:30PM (in the Band Room, Do0r A4). If you are auditioning for Battery and/or Front Ensemble MUST be present both days. Please make sure you communicate any and all rehearsal and performance conflicts you may have this season during your audition. This information will be taken into consideration and may affect your placement.

  • • • • 9th - Battery Auditions (You choose what to audition for. Like a workshop staff will listen to groups together and move people around. Staff will also hear everyone individually.)

          • • • Members auditioning for the Front Ensemble will also need to be present.

              • Visual Ensemble Video Auditions tapes are due Monday November 9th by 11:59PM. You do not need to be present. (subject to change)

        • 11th - Front Ensemble Auditions (You choose what to audition for. Like a workshop staff will listen to groups together and move people around. Staff will also hear everyone individually.)

          • • • Members auditioning for Battery will also need to be present.

              • Members auditioning for the Visual Ensemble will also need to be present. (subject to change)

February

• 20th - AIA Competition at Landstown High School

  • • • • VA All-State auditions are on the 27th

March

• 6th - WGI Ashburn Percussion and Winds Regional at Rock Ridge High School

• 20th - AIA Competition at James River High School

  • • • • This is the same time as the AHS and WAHS Band Trip and potentially the same time as the MHS Band Trip.

April

• 2nd - Community Night at Monticello High School (6PM to 9PM)

  • • • • This is potentially the same time as the MHS Band Trip.

• 4th - AIA Championships in the Hampton Coliseum (Sunday)

  • • • • This is potentially the same time as the MHS Band Trip.

• 15th thru the 19th - WGI Percussion World Championships in Dayton, OH

  • • • • This is the same time as CHS Band Trip and the AHS Jazz Band Competition.

        • VA All-State takes place from April 22nd-24th

Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays nights from 6PM to 9PM November through April and Saturday mornings 7:30AM to 11AM January through April with a few exceptions throughout the season (November 14th, November 21st, December 12th, January 12th, and April 3rd from 8AM to 3PM). All rehearsals are held at Monticello High School.
