“A Veterans Christmas” hosted by John Helin, San Mateo County Veterans Commission’s 2019 Patriot of the Year. Members Joyce, Arlene, Peggy and Pauline J. distributed handmade holiday cards to veterans attending this annual luncheon. San Mateo’s College Park Girl Scout Troop 61740 worked remotely as they juggled different high school schedules to complete this project. Troop 61740 has been partnering with the Auxiliary since 2020–providing toiletries, gift bags and cards to veterans.
We enjoyed a relaxing lunch and fun gift exchange at Waterfront Pizza. No shop talk! We share stories about our past employment, family stories, and life experiences to get to know each other better outside of our volunteer work.

Congratulations to U105 inaugural member Stacy Jimenez for being elected Foster City Mayor. Her veterans lineage dates back to the American Revolution. Stacy served on U105's California Girls State selection panel in 2021, 2022, and 2023. For the past two years at our Veterans Day Ceremony, Stacy bestowed our Girls State Citizens with their graduation stoles. Stacy holds a degree in Politics from UCLA and a Juris Doctorate from University of San Francisco.
Carol M, Cindy & Peggy braved cold weather, greeted visitors and managed dock ramps.
Members raised funds for their respective Family (Legion, Auxiliary, Sons & Riders) by monitoring visitors who were viewing the decorated boats. The nippy evening was topped off with a drone show which impressed all who attended.
Members of the D26 purchased gifts for VA Bldg. 331 resident patients. Gifts from the virtual Unit 472 are forthcoming.

P105 Family donated stuffed toys to first responders--RWC Police, RWC Fire Dept. and San Mateo County Sheriff. The responders can gift the toys to children during stressful situations & incidents. The RWC Fire Dept. had to leave for a call so we took separate pictures.

The Family (Legion, Auxiliary, Sons & Riders) donated six turkeys and eight hams to the VA-Menlo Park veteran residents for their Thanksgiving meals.
Our Unit recently voted to donate Glowforge laser cutter supplies to the VA-Menlo Park's Art Center. VA&R Deputy Arlene delivered to instructor Tien Gerrodette.
San Mateo Girl Scouts troop are creating cards to be delivered with Auxiliary’s holiday gifts to the VA-Menlo Park veteran patients. The gift delivery is scheduled for Dec 15 as well as assisting the VA staff with distributing desserts to bed-ridden patients.
Veterans Day Ceremony
In anticipation of the rain, our Ceremony team pivoted quickly to move the event from Courthouse Square to our Post. The day went off without a hitch. Enjoy the carousel of pictures.
Auxiliary Donates Food To CSM Veterans
Members Arlene, Peggy, Cindy & Mary delivered $500 worth of food & beverages to CSM’s Veterans Resource & Opportunity Center. VROC Coordinator Marcos and veterans accepted our donation. VROC provides multiple services–lounge area, computer access, VA info, and camaraderie. The delivery fulfills our mission to serve military families and addresses possible food insecurity for some veteran students. Arlene, District 26 Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Deputy (6+ years), liaisons between the VA and the Auxiliary.
Unit 105’s 2025 Open Application for qualifying high school juniors from these schools: Design Tech High, Notre Dame Belmont, The Nueva School, Sacred Heart Atherton, and Sequoia High. Deadline for submission is February 1, 2025 11:59pm.

Volunteers from many organizations came together on October 19 to pack 400 boxes to be mailed to deployed troops and 300 bags to be given to at-risk veterans. Spearheading the event were ALA U105 VA&R Deputy Carol Bagley and ALP105 Legionnaire Tom Giannini were Elks Lodge. The Auxiliary was represented by (L-R) U585 Marci & Diana and U105 Amy, Pauline, Arlene, Cindy, and, of course, Carol B (not pictured).
All are welcomed to join the Post 105 Redwood City FAMILY on November 11 as we host our annual VETERANS DAY CEREMONY. Legionnaires Vern, Michael (Exec Comm, PR team), Bob, and Aux D26 President Peggy (PR team) walked downtown Redwood City to ask merchants to display our flier and to inform merchants of street closures for our annual day of honoring our Veterans.
September 2024. Husband and wife team, Andrew and Wendy, reload the new soda machine. Thanks go to the following members of clearing the parking lot, painting outdoor trim, reorganizing storage areas, and more: Auxiliary’s Peggy, Wendy; Legionnaires’ Tom, Stan; Sons’ Patrick, Tony; and Riders’ Andrew, Gary.
August 2024. The Auxiliary attended the annual VA Fisher House Car Show and promoted our programs. Fisher House III is being built to accommodate families of long-term patients receiving VA-Palo Alto medical care. Our Unit donated $100 towards Fisher House III. Arlene, Pauline, & Carol B. sold our RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) t-shirts.

Post 105 SOS Breakfast Welcomes ALA
District 26 Officers
In August, P105 hosted another SOS Breakfast. U105 welcomed District 26's as they started their fiscal year with a car wash, meeting, and a banger breakfast! Members arrived at Post 105 to a fundraiser car wash for the USMC 23d Regiment. Regiment members & their families did a superb job of caring for the cars while D26 met. Later, all D26 members headed to the Post Hall to enjoy a special SOS Breakfast prepared by 2nd Vice Commander Leo and his wife Carol (U105 Co-Chaplain). The Italian sausage gravy, toast & eggs hit the spot.
