I have an interest in integrating technology into the learning environment to support collaborative and differentiated learning within a flexible studio classroom design.
I am an Alumni of the University of Regina, class of 1980. After a two year posting with CUSO in Kaduna, Nigeria, I worked in South-central Saskatchewan in rural K-12 schools. I principally taught middle years and high school English Language Arts and Social Sciences. I took a year of post-graduate studies, and then moved into school-based administration. I stepped out of that role in 2007, and returned to the classroom as an elementary school teacher in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. I retired from full time teaching July, 2017, substituted until the beginning of 2020, and then withdrew from the teaching profession during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aliens have reached out to us. A small boy picks up a glittering rock amidst the debris cast across a prairie field. Brandon's childish impulse begins a journey of alien encounter and inseparable partnership which offers to change the world. Across a dozen years, as Brandon transforms, so does Sam, the alien mind within him. A galaxy awaits them, but not before they figure out how to be more than human in a suspicious world and survive adolescence. How do you build a space ship in plain sight? Brandon and Sam find themselves fending off family and friends, tangling with drug dealers and the suspicious police. They know discovery is fatal. Which movie about alien possession ever ended well for the hapless human? Suspicions grow and the partners make mistakes. It turns into a race to launch and safety.
