On this page you will find all things related to creating a fermented liquid, which will contain upto 23% alcohol by volume. this is called a "wash".
It is the wash which you will transfer into a still to distill into spirits. In this instance it will be a 'neutral' spirit which would be used for making clear spirits such as vodka and gin, as well as many liqueurs.
There are however, so many variations and adaptations for creating a wash, dependent on the desired outcome, and these are covered in other areas.
