I am Akihiro Itoigawa, an assistant professor in Prof. Atsuko Yamashita's lab at The University of Osaka, Japan.

I am studying the evolution and adaptation of taste perception in vertebrates including primates from the view of molecular sensors for taste (taste receptors). To address this, I use cellular and molecular techniques (cultured cell assays for receptors, etc.) and molecular evolution analyses.
