Ever since I can remember, I have always had a camera in my hands. Whether it be a poor quality kids' digital camera with two settings for picture and video, or my family's first DSLR when I was 12 - I was persistently capturing my world.
I knew nothing about the mechanics of cameras (let alone what aperture or the rule of thirds were); all I knew was how a good picture felt when I took one. I knew it in my bones that something made certain pictures "good" and others not so good, even from the age of 8 when I got my own Sony digital camera. I couldn't explain it in words to you back then what constituted a great picture, but I knew one when I took it.
And as the years went on I continued to explore photography. In high school I dove into learning the mechanics and rules of cameras, and I became known as the friend with the camera at any social gathering or slumber party.
My first commission was a senior photo shoot for my classmate when I was 17. That was the moment I knew that this was something I didn't just enjoy doing: it was something I needed to do.
The passion for capturing the world around me led me to college at Moody Bible Institute to major in Communications, where I studied for 6 years.
After relocating to Northeast Ohio in 2022, I began a job as a photographer and videographer for a marketing company, where I am increasing my skills and knowledge in perfecting my craft.
AJTHEBLUEJAY STUDIOS is my passion, my purpose, my future.
My goal is that anyone who steps in front of my camera will walk away feeling more confident and joyful than when they arrived.
Thank you for coming along with me on this journey!
