MORE ABOUT ME
Well well well, It's nice to meet you! As you know by now, my name is AJ Schinco, I am 19 years old (20 in October), and I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I am currently studying in the Pop Music Program at Arizona State University to learn as much as I can about the music industry, audio engineering, and sound design!
I have been writing, recording, and producing my own music since I was twelve years old! YES! Twelve. If you dig hard enough, you can probably find the first "album" I put out when I was 14 years old (during COVID). I have always been a creative, and decided I was going to begin making art for myself.
I often write music to process emotions that I feel heavily. I tend to use the phrase "create to escape," because I find myself creating to heal. I want every song and project I create to have depth to it and a story behind it.
I have a plethora of skills and tricks up my sleeve that can be useful within the industry:
Songwriting (all of my songs are self-written)
Multi-Instrumentalist
Piano, Guitar, Flute, Clarinet, Steel Guitar
Music Production (all of my songs are self-produced)
Audio Engineering
Mixing / Mastering
Vocal Processing
Strong Creative Direction
Strengths in Concept Development
World Building
I have Synesthesia
I can listen to a song and entirely replicate the production (did this for a music final and I re-created Material Girl by Madonna entirely by ear)
I am my own recording and performing artist, and I want to take my career to the next level. My dream is to develop a community that uplifts each other through the music I create.
I also love performing, so I hope one day I can be successful enough to sell-out my own headlining shows, and make "making-music" a full time job.
Another goal I have is to make as much music in as many genres as possible. I started with Indie Pop/Rock, now I am currently in 80's synth pop, so who knows what my next record could be! I love constantly rebranding and creating a new persona to match the music I am creating. Genre-hopping tests my creativity, production skills, and writing skills and I find that I like testing the waters.
As for right now, I am looking for connections in the industry, whether that is in the studios, or behind the scenes, I am always looking to learn and connect human-to-human.
I am based in Omaha, Nebraska, and Phoenix, Arizona, and hope to one day, end up in Los Angeles!
(LA's a mere 5 hours away!)
