After you complete the New Puppy Questionnaire, we schedule a follow-up phone call that typically lasts between one to two hours. This conversation is an important part of our matching process and allows us to get to know you and your family on a more personal level. During the call, we’ll discuss your answers in more detail, talk about your lifestyle, and learn what qualities you’re hoping for in your future puppy. It’s also your opportunity to ask us any questions you may have about AJR Aussies, our breeding program, or our policies. We take time to explain how we raise our puppies, including their early training, socialization, and health testing. This open discussion helps ensure that you fully understand our values and what to expect throughout the adoption process. It also allows us to identify which puppy or upcoming litter might be the best fit for your home. We believe this personalized approach builds trust and sets the foundation for a strong, long-term relationship between breeder and family. By the end of the call, both sides have a clear understanding of expectations and confidence in the match being made. Our goal is for every family to feel informed, comfortable, and excited about welcoming their new AJR Aussie into their lives.
Our deposits are typically non-refundable. If you decide you want a puppy and change your mind for any reason, you will NOT get a refund.
There are a few exceptions, which are explained in the introductory email that you will receive from me (step 1).
This secures your spot on our waiting list. Puppies are typically allocated 48 hours after birth, at which time the full deposit becomes non-refundable. A signed contract is required before any deposit is accepted, and no deposits will be taken without a prior phone conversation to ensure a clear understanding between both parties. After the deposit is placed, the puppy will be officially reserved for you, removed from the market, and you will receive weekly updates until the puppy is ready to go home at nine weeks of age.
Deposits can be made via Cash, Zelle, Cashapp or Apple Pay. Please be certain of your decision before placing a deposit!
During this waiting period, you will be getting regular updates on the litter as a whole until the puppy evaluations are done at 7 weeks after the birth of the litter. We will go in order of the date you placed your deposit. Although we try our best to take your preference of sex and color, the main criteria is our personality matching.
Puppy pickups are conducted by appointment only at our home or other agreed-upon location and we require that all visitors follow our established rules to protect the safety and health of our dogs and family. Appointments must be scheduled and approved in advance.
