The dialogue concerns the use and value of rhetoric in connection with education and philosophy: in the background, providing the fundamental conceptual framework, remains the system of ideas and the correct method for attaining knowledge of the truth and communicating it. Phaedrus, a young Athenian passionate about the art of speech, meets Socrates, and the two begin a discussion about rhetoric as they journey outside Athens to the valley of the Ilissos, east of the city. The setting gives Plato the opportunity to craft one of the most beautiful environmental descriptions in all of Greek literature. This canvas describes my personal view, a spiritual journey painted throughout this reading. Without an academic background about the Platonic structure, I depicted images summoned by this reading.
