While a teaching and AI expert would have been the ideal candidate to create this website, I'm not either. I am a middle school teacher and I've been using AI since March 2023. This project is the result of my combined passions for technology and education. It was created both as a tool for my peers and as the final project for my class Digital Pedagogy at CU Denver as I work to obtain my master's in Instruction and Curriculum with an emphasis on Critical Pedagogy. 

At the time of this web page's creation, I could not find a resource that gave educators a breakdown of AI tools from a critical pedagogy perspective. I do encourage you to check the Resources page to read what the true experts are saying about AI. 

Love it or hate it, it is my belief AI is here to stay and we as educators have a responsibility to understand and teach the tools safely and responsibly wherever possible. I believe AI will change the workplace and there will be a gap in the near future, much like we saw when computers took hold, between those able to use AI as a tool to enhance their own ideas, and those who cannot.
