Terms & Conditions — Novel AI - AI Story Generator

Effective date: October 17, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the provider of Novel AI - AI Story Generator ("the App", "we", "us"). They apply to the App, its AI features, the Classics library, and Community. Please read them carefully.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content and Abuse

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users in Community. If you post content that breaks Section 7, or if you harass, threaten, or abuse other users, we will remove the content and may suspend or permanently ban your account without notice.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Community.

• If the law in your country sets a higher minimum age (up to 16 in the EEA and UK), you need permission from a parent or guardian.

• If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you.

• You may not use Community if we have banned you before.

3. License to Use the App

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the App.

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to extract the App's source code.

• Use the App's name, logo, or trademarks without our permission.

• Access our servers or APIs with bots, scrapers, or any tool other than the App.

• Interfere with, overload, or try to break the security of the App or its servers.

We keep all rights, title, and intellectual property in the App, except for content that you own (see Section 6).

4. Community Accounts

• You sign in to Community with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In.

• You are responsible for all activity on your account. Keep your Apple or Google account secure.

• Your username and display name must not impersonate another person, brand, or organization, and must not be offensive.

• You may have only one Community account, unless we allow otherwise.

• You can deactivate or permanently delete your account at any time in Community → Settings. Deleting your account also deletes your published stories, comments, and reactions.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

• Some features need a paid subscription. The App shows the price, length, and features of each plan before you buy. Prices can differ by country.

• Apple charges payment to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your account for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

• If a free trial is offered, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy a subscription.

• Apple handles all refunds under its policies. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

• We may change features or prices. A price change does not affect a period you have already paid for. Apple will tell you about price increases as its rules require.

6. Your Content

6.1 You own your content

You keep ownership of the stories, chapters, comments, and other content you create or publish ("Your Content").

6.2 License you give us

When you publish Your Content to Community, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, format, and distribute it inside the App, only to operate and promote Community. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups for a limited time, and content that other users have already quoted in replies.

6.3 Your responsibility

You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that:

• You own Your Content or have the right to publish it.

• Your Content does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.

• Your Content follows these Terms and the Community Rules in Section 7.

6.4 Private stories

Stories you do not publish stay on your device. We do not review them. You are responsible for keeping backups.

7. Community Rules

You must not post, share, or send content that:

• Contains sexual content involving minors, or sexualizes minors in any way.

• Is pornographic or sexually explicit.

• Promotes, threatens, or glorifies violence, terrorism, self-harm, or suicide.

• Harasses, bullies, threatens, or intimidates any person.

• Attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar characteristics.

• Shares another person's private information (doxxing).

• Impersonates another person or organization.

• Infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property, including copying another author's work and presenting it as your own.

• Promotes illegal activity, drugs, weapons, or dangerous acts.

• Is spam, scams, advertising, or links to malware or phishing.

• Is misleading in a way that can cause real-world harm.

Fiction can explore mature or dark themes. Mark mature stories correctly, and keep them within the rules above. We decide whether content breaks these rules.

8. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation

• Report: you can report any story, comment, or user in the App. You can also email reports to aistorywriter.ios@gmail.com.

• Block: you can block any user. Blocked users' content is hidden from you, and they cannot interact with you.

• Our action: we review reports and act within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these Terms, and we ban users who post it.

• Our rights: we may remove or hide any content, limit features, or suspend or terminate any account that breaks these Terms or harms other users, with or without notice.

• Filtering: we may use automated tools to detect and block objectionable content before or after it is published.

• We do not review all content before it is published, and we are not responsible for content that other users post.

9. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright, email aistorywriter.ios@gmail.com with:

• Your name and contact information.

• A description of the copyrighted work.

• The title of the story or comment, and the author's username.

• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized.

• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.

• Your physical or electronic signature.

We will remove infringing content and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

10. AI-Generated Content

• The App uses third-party AI (OpenAI) to generate and rewrite text. Your prompts and story text are processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

• AI output can be inaccurate, offensive, unexpected, or similar to existing works. We do not guarantee its quality, accuracy, or originality.

• Review AI output before you publish or share it. You are responsible for any AI output you publish, in the same way as your own writing.

• Do not use AI features to create content that breaks Section 7 or the law.

• Do not enter sensitive personal information in prompts.

11. Classics Library

The Classics feature shows public-domain books from Project Gutenberg. These works are in the public domain in the United States. Copyright laws differ by country. You are responsible for checking whether a work is in the public domain where you live before you copy or distribute it. Project Gutenberg is a trademark of the Project Gutenberg Literary Archive Foundation. We are not affiliated with it.

12. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services, such as Apple, Google, OpenAI, Firebase, and Project Gutenberg. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for third-party services.

13. Internet, Data, and Device

• AI features, Classics, and Community need an internet connection. Your mobile carrier may charge for data and roaming. You are responsible for these charges.

• Keep your device secure. Do not jailbreak your device. A jailbroken device can be exposed to malware, and the App may not work correctly on it.

14. Updates and Availability

We may update, change, or stop any feature, or the App itself, at any time. Some updates may be required to keep using the App. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available or free of errors.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the App. When your access ends, your license under Section 3 ends. Sections 6.3, 9, 16, 17, 18, and 20 continue to apply after termination.

16. Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP, AI OUTPUT, OR USER CONTENT IS ACCURATE, SAFE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

17. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, CONTENT, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, CAUSED BY YOUR USE OF THE APP OR BY CONTENT FROM OTHER USERS OR AI. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Some countries do not allow these limits. In those countries, the limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law.

18. Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate us for claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) caused by Your Content, your use of the App, or your breach of these Terms.

19. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). You agree that:

• We, not Apple, are responsible for the App and its content.

• Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for the App.

• If the App fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App (if any). Apple has no other warranty duty for the App.

• Apple is not responsible for any claims about the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App does not meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.

• Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, or settling any claim that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.

• You confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or listed as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

• You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the App, such as your wireless data service agreement.

• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

20. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where we are established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. Before you start a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to solve the problem.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and change the effective date. If the changes are significant, we will notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

22. General

• If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest of the Terms stay in effect.

• If we do not enforce a right, we do not give up that right.

• You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example in a merger or sale of the App.

• These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us about the App.
