After my graduation from John A. Ferguson Sr High School in Kendall, Florida. Step 1: Get pre-qualified. I will pre-screen you over the phone to check for any red flags that are disqualifying for Air Force service such as serious medical issues/law violations/drug use/etc. If you are pre-qualified, I will set up an initial appointment.
Step 2: At your initial appointment you must come prepared with your original copies of your social security card, birth certificate, high school diploma, college transcripts (if applicable), and a State issued DL (State issue ID , U.S. Passport, etc.). I will go over any questions you have, to ensure you’re ready to join. I will build you a profile in our system and we will review all necessary paperwork.
*Air Force needs are currently mechanical aptitude jobs, electronics aptitude jobs, security forces, and special warfare positions.*
Step 3: Submit a scheduling request to military entrance processing station (MEPS) for your medical physical exam. The physical exam is not a PT test. The physical exam will be checking qualifying factors such as vision, hearing, blood tests, drug tests, etc. Further medical records may be required, be prepared to head to your doctor or pharmacist for records.
Step 4: Once scheduled for MEPS you will go down and complete your testing on the first day (TAPAS, ASVAB, DLAB etc.) . You’ll spend the night at a hotel free of charge and do your physical the next day. Once the testing and physical is complete you will know what jobs you are qualified for based on your academic and physical results. You will complete the oath of enlistment, swear into the Air Force, and join the delayed entry program (DEP).
Step 6: The delayed entry program (DEP) is everyone who is qualified and waiting to book a job or has booked a job and is waiting to ship. We will complete your DEP briefing and give you some time to review the jobs you are qualified for so you can make an educated decision. You will make a list of 10-15 jobs that you would like and the Air Force will provide you a job from your list.
Step 7: Leave for Basic Military Training (BMT) and start your Air Force Career.
