The City Inspired
Sharing the history of RamaIV district, the location of both One Bangkok and aircraft cola. Dating back to the past, this area was once expansive rice fields. In Bangkok Design Week 2024; Livable Scape, we freshen up the connection between people and place through a refreshing experience.
Present of the Past
The concept of sustainability in Thai culture is embodied in pop rice (ข้าวตัง). Historically, when cooking rice in large pots, a common issue was the rice sticking to the pot's bottom, making it unpleasant for consumption. To minimize rice wastage, leftover rice was sun-dried, cut into pieces, and fried to create a snack known as pop rice (ข้าวตัง). This approach reflects a mindset of minimizing waste and optimizing resources in today's circular food practices.
Find Satisfaction in The City We Live
This soda is infused with the natural flavoring of roasted pop rice, drawing inspiration from local wisdom. In the past, Thai people flavored their drinking water by grilling pop rice and infusing it into the water and add some sweet to create more delightful beverage (น้ำข้าวตัง). Adding new twist on the traditional drink with carbonation technique, we create mellow and refreshing soda with natural caramelized tasting notes filled with RamaIV’s sense of place.
