The Memories
When I was a child, I spent my childhood with some foreign missionaries who left their homes to share the message of Jesus here in Thailand for a while, and I called them "Auntie," followed by their names.

One Auntie, with whom I spent the most my time, loved to bake. Back then, cakes weren’t easy to find, but she would always ask, "Child, what color cake would you like for your birthday?" Having someone bake a birthday cake just for me is a memory that always warms my heart.

There’s another moment I’ll never forget. One night, we had an activity at the church and stayed overnight. We were sleeping on mats in a room with no air conditioning, and it was a very hot night. Auntie was nearby, sleeping in an air-conditioned guestroom with a large, comfortable bed. She could have slept peacefully by herself, but instead, she opened the door, woke us up, and invited all the kids to share the bed with her. That night, we all slept well because of her kindness.

Today, Auntie has left city life to teach English and the Bible in Chiang-Rai. She still lives among children and bakes for them just as she did for me when I was very young. Passion Fruit is named after its flower, which has corona filaments that resemble the thorn crown of Jesus. The thorn crown symbolizes Jesus’ passion and His purpose to live for others. This flavor is my tribute to those missionaries, their passions, and the noble purposes they live for.
