Hi, I'm Ainsley! I am a NASM CPT and CNC and also hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I have been lifting for 7 years and powerlifting for 4 years.
What started as simply wanting to gain a little bit of muscle and eat a little bit more food has become a huge part of my life. Through years of training and competing I have learned so much from so many different people in this amazing community (as well as learning things the hard way from my own mistakes). I've been able to push myself so much further than I ever thought was possible. This year, I was lucky enough to earn a spot on Team Canada for the Commonwealth Championships, which has been the biggest milestone of my lifting career.
I have always been a big nerd for math and science so it's important to me to understand the WHY behind what we do in the gym. I love learning the science behind strength and hypertrophy and using evidence-based principles to guide my coaching. That being said, the most important data to analyze is your own training data. What may work on paper is not always what works for each individual. Research gives us a great starting point but everyone's lifestyle, experience, and goals are different. Your training protocols should shift and evolve over time based on what does and doesn't work best for your body and your life.
Whether it's your first time with a barbell in your hands or your 10th time prepping for a meet, I want to share my knowledge and passion for strength training with you to help you reach your goals!
