About: Visual Communication & Intelligent Robotics (VCR) Lab focuses on advanced research at the intersection of visual communication, robot perception, navigation, and human–robot interaction. The Lab develops efficient methods for visual representation and coding, including video coding, point clouds, Gaussian Splatting, and video coding for machines, together with efficient SLAM and autonomous navigation for intelligent robotic systems. Another key research direction is Human–Robot Interaction (HRI), with emphasis on visual perception, human intention understanding, and safe, proactive, and natural interaction between humans and robots. Overall, VCR Lab aims to develop efficient visual intelligence and communication technologies that enable robots to perceive, understand, navigate, communicate, and interact effectively in real-world environments.
