Ichika Hoshimiya (いちか宮, Hoshimiya Ichika), Is the main protagonist of Aikatsu! Next Melody and Is currently attending Starlight Academy, Ichika Is a cute-type Idol whose preferred brand Is Sweet Story, she's In a Unit named Shooting Star, with Lala Nijino, and Ayumi Shiratori however when Ayumi takes her leave the unit goes on a hiatus, creating a new unit named Rising Melody with Lala Nijino, as of Episode 40, Season two Shooting Star makes It's comeback.

In Episode 30 of Season three she forms a unit under the name of FARAWAY⭐PATH, with Cera Komori, and Miyuki Kanzaki.

Bio

Ichika Hoshimiya a young female student who currently attends the No. 1 Idol school, Starlight Academy. Ichika being a solo-Idol until Shooting Star was formed In Season One with two of her friends Lala Nijino and Ayumi Shiratori. Formerly she helped her family' cafe which specialized In menus that a family can enjoy together, despite being Inexperienced she helped In any way she could by being a waiter, and/or taking advice from the customers to lighten up the family cafe, from time to time she would help her Mother make the food however she failed miserably but continued to try.

Ichika had no reasoning to become a Idol at the start, only wanting to become one when It was revealed her Mother was also a Idol In the past; never seeing the Importance within being a Idol, she often asked her friends who had the knowledge In the topic of Aikatsu! Becoming amazed at how the system differs from normal systems.

When Ichika got Invited to a live show of the former Star☆Anis (Miyuki Gen), she saw the meaning within a Idol and how the simple concert gave the Audience a unforgettable memory, as If the sky lit up with a Aurora made of dreams and smiles from the Audience. She was Inspired to also become a Idol after seeing such a concert, having the will then to become a Idol which can also make their audience this happy.

After that, she claimed that she would become a Idol to her dear friends, shocking them as they knew Ichika never had the will to do so but now her motive has changed within Aikatsu! After months of training for the famous auditions to get Into Starlight Academy, she entered the auditions with Lala Nijino. Unfortunately failing despite having a slightly above average concert In Idol rankings, It was the first time she felt such sadness; realizing how much pain people go through when they fail, seeing how she overlooked such things In her life she decided to get up and train once again. Getting Invited to England when her Cousin Invited her over after she got up from her severe depression, Ichika obviously accepting and going off for three months to train and develop for the next time the auditions open up.

In the time she was at England she learned the differences between the countries, people and happiness that differs In each place; seeing various concerts from different Idols and realizing the reasoning for not passing, wanting to train more, not only dancing, singing but getting to know the people; finding out what makes them so happy.

When she came back with her two friends (Lala Nijino, Ayumi Shiratori) she entered the auditions once again; unfortunately barely making It but thankfully being one of the last participants. Once she got to stage she showed a stronger aura, thankfully being slightly above average but normal for a Idol who has trained far more than others. Ichika performed Aikatsu! Next Melody, a song which was created by her adventures within England, still being Inexperienced within Aikatsu! She still had a goal, a dream she wanted to achieve, knowing that the Idol Itself Isn't what Is important, but the dreams they make for the audience that are gazing at them upon stage.

Appearance

Ichika Is a tall girl with a fair complexion, slightly slanted but round golden eyes that gradually fade Into a lime color, puffy auburn hair that becomes a lighter shade of brown near her collarbones with her trademark dark pink ribbon held up near her side-bangs. Often seen wearing the default wear for Starlight Academy with long black socks that reach her thighs.

Appearances

When exercising she pulls her hair back Into two loose braided buns with a slight wavy curl sticking out, wearing a white tracksuit with magenta sleeves, and a small sized star within a emblem located at her chest.

When In disguise she wears a red hat with green stripes that stop by puffy ends, she wears a creamy long-sleeved shirt with red dungarees followed by long white socks that reach her thighs and puffy brown boots.

Her preferred coords Is of the brand Sweet Story, a fairy-tale themed brand with child-like elements, however she sometimes wears other brands, ex. Blossoming Angel In Episode 32, KiraKira Sundae In Episode 10, Gothic Melodia In Episode 20, alongside plenty of other brands In rare cases mostly used for short concerts and/or group concerts.

Personality

Ichika Is a cheerful young girl with a caring aspect towards life. She Is a gung-ho girl who often spreads happiness, and tries to look on the bright side of things, however apart from her sweet child-like behavior she Is very educated within History, English and Math, enjoying education often, Including being quite dense under certain topics that Include the Idol system. Ichika enjoys pulling mischievous pranks, this Is rarely seen apart from holidays such as Halloween or Easter. Ichika tries to get along with everyone, sometimes becoming stubborn or frustrated however she often gets along even with rivals, enemies; Including times they didn't want her to talk.

Ichika Is seen to be a girl without fears however she Is quite afraid of heights, zombies or/and blood. Unable to see the sight or hear the topic or else she would become scared. Ichika has a sweet-personality that Influences people around her, however Ichika doesn't take kindly to Insults that are directed to her appearance or people she loves. She Is often straightforward, sometimes ending up In trouble with how straightforward she can get, sharing this with one of her traits, curiosity which often leads up to getting lost In a Area she has no Information of or getting Into trouble. Often becoming brave and courageous In times people need It the most, but she's also a normal human being so sometimes she fails and/or gets quite Insecure. Ichika also picked up the ability to know how people are feeling by looking Into their eyes, because of this ability she encourages herself to help people more often around her If they are unhappy even If they decline. Ichika has a love for puns, preferably to do with objects, animals, people, food or space. Ichika Inherited her love towards food from her Mother, despite that she can be a picky eater at times with foods she dislikes. Ichika tries to help anyone If they need help, sometimes overworking herself or failing; even If they declined she continued to do so. She'd be marked off as a Annoying Girl and/or Stalker, but she'd gradually become friends with them. Ichika sometimes exaggerates what happens by accident due to reading too much fairy tale based books. She has a love for making friends and never leaves one behind, however she can get Into fights with them but that's what makes them closer. She becomes sensitive when her friends Insult her as she trusts them, she can trust too much people and get hurt due to that. She becomes brave as If she's a superhero when people do bad things. However she can become hurt at times, sometimes feeling left out and trying to lie to people but ending up telling them with her straightforward trait.

Background

Ichika wanted to become a Idol ever since finding out her Mother was a former Idol, knowing that there would be obstacles she still wanted to do so; she didn't understand how the system worked, nor anything else for that matter but still wanted to become a Idol. When she saw Star Anis perform, she genuinely wanted to become a Idol to spread happiness like they did with the audience, now understanding what It Is to become a Idol.

Ichika wanted to be an Idol ever since she was young due to her Mother, she thought nothing less of It than being an Idol. But when she saw Star Anis perform (Miyuki's generation), she Instantly fell In love. Not the concert, but on how Idols can open new dreams and create smiles. And Instantly put a smile on your face, so from then Ichika wanted to make those who are sad happy, and those who are happy happier. She wants to create new dreams and smiles, from then she tried her best.

When she failed her first audition, she left for America to train a year with her cousin who was a former Idol, accompanied by her best friends Lala Nijino, and Ayumi Shiratori. After a year, they returned to enter the Auditions, passing barely; although, Ichika was quite happy as she did have concerns.

It has been hinted various times that Ichika's family, grew up In a cottage around a forest. Including her older sister Sapphire who talks about when they lived there; It was a strawberry garden, where they grew strawberries.

Relationships

Yumi Tenshi - Yumi Is the designer of her primary brand Sweet Story, both are super close and Ichika loves hugging her and holding Yumi's hand. They have a sister type of relationship, but Ichika doesn't know whether she's the little sister or Yumi Is.

Ayumi Shiratori - Ayumi Is one of Ichika's best friend, and a childhood friend. She Is a fellow member of both Kiseki Stars, and Shooting Star.

Lala Nijino - Both are best friends, and childhood friends. They both have similar Interests, Lala Is a fellow member of both Kiseki Stars, and Shooting Star,

Kaori Ichinoise - Both are close friends.

Cera - Ichika takes a Interest In Cera, believing that she actually Is a Vampire and filling Cera with questions about how she lived for 900 years. Ichika often gives advice to Cera, and helps her when she needs help. Both are close friends and formed a temporary unit to enter Sweet VampVamp auditions with. Cera, Is a fellow member of Kiseki Stars.

Hanami - Both have a relationship like a mentor and student, Ichika Is fully aware of how Hanami looks up to her like a teacher, so Ichika tries her best with the role.

Sapphire Hoshimiya - Both are close friends, and siblings. Sapphire knows Ichika the most, and Is always there for her when she needs help.

Karin - She got surprised to see Karin eating candy when she met her, becoming friends with her Instantly. Both are close friends, Karin Is a fellow member of Kiseki Stars.

Tani - Both are rivals, and friends. Ichika goes to Tani for advice often, they are both close. Tani Is a fellow member of Kiseki Stars.

Kira - Ichika looks up to Kira as a role model, both are close.

Hina - Both are super close, Hina helped Ichika get through her struggles.

Hiyori - She met Hiyori through Hina, both are close friends and Hiyori always thanks Ichika for being friends with her twin sister Hina.

Etymology

Hoshimiya (宮, Hoshimiya) Hoshi (星, Hoshi), means Star, a reference towards the fact she believes she was born from a shooting star. Miya (宮, Miya), means shrine.

Ichika, (苺花, Ichika) Ichi (苺) meaning Strawberry, a reference to her Mothers name, Ichigo. Ka (花), literally translating to Flower.

Aura

Ichika's aura Is comprised of flowing small-sized lotus and sunflowers that spiral around her during the concert, chocolate hearts topped with Ichika written In white chocolate.

However when she finds herself her aura Is comprised of small and large lotus flowers that surround her.

Ichika's progression aura is compromised of rainbow-colored strawberries that float around her. She is also surrounded by white clouds that are topped with flowers, similar to a flower bush. There is also various circles of different colors surrounding her feet.

In Season Three her aura upgrades, adding flowers that grow from beneath her.

In the Aikatsu! Next Melody Special Movie It Is seen that her aura expands quite a lot, beating the record of all the former Idols.

Ichika Is a cute type Idol whose preferred brand Is Sweet Story, which Is a brand based off adventures, and fairy tales. She often wears the purple colored coords matching her current color palette.

Ichika's school number Is 311, reference towards the fact her lucky number Is three.

Plot

Ichika always wanted to become a Idol, as seen In the first Aikatsu! Next Melody movie she poured her heart out Into becoming an Idol. At the start of the movie, Ichika Is seen to be trying to plant Flowers. Ichigo talked to Ichika about becoming an Idol, and the responsibilities of having to be one. Ichika replying, that she'd much rather give It a try then not try at all. When Ichika finished up, she headed Into the house. Where she got a call from Ayumi Shiratori, telling Ichika that she left her book at her house. In a hurry, Ichika decided to go pick It up. When Ichika got to the house, Ayumi was holding Two Idol tickets, to Miyuki Kanzaki's Solo concert and the unit concert. Ichika soon realizing that Ayumi might of lied, to surpise Ichika with tickets. Ayumi Invited Ichika to the concert along with her and Lala, and Ichika decided to go. The next day, both of them head to the Concert. On the way Ayumi getting nervous, and Ichika helping Ayumi. When they finally entered It. They all sat down, feasting their eyes on the Unit's concert,

Ichika couldn't take her eyes off them, they were dragging the crowds In and making more people watch there concert. Ichika then fell In love with Idols more, as before she just wanted to become a Idol to follow her Mother's footsteps, but now realized how Important an Idol's job Is, she then wanted to create new smiles and dreams. Determined Ichika trained for a whole year until the auditions came, as Ayumi was watching the auditions hoping both Lala and Ichika will pass. Ichika did her concert, pulling off an appeal miraculously but In the end not passing, Ichika got very depressed but she pulled off a smile. That following day, Ichika got Invited to America by her cousin to train for another year to try to become a Idol. Accepting that request and telling Ayumi, aswell as Lala. Both of them wanting to come along, Ichika let them come along.

For that year all of them trained, until the time was right to come back. When they did, they were much better, although they finally fit the Basic Idol. Nowadays It's really hard to become a Idol, Ichika barely passed that day but she did, to herself she passed with flying colours but she believes the Principal doesn't like her as the Principal was very strict.

Taking Part In Auditions

The auditions nowadays seems quite harder, Ichika being troubled by the fact she couldn't get Into a Audition. Entered Into the least viewed one. Finding out that Audition was actually the hardest there was, and It was the most viewed but no one knew. As Ichika trained for the audition, decided to take a break. Going to Central Town, and making a cake for fun. There she meets Kou, the one who was extremely mean to Ichika; they didn't get along one bit. After there little feud, Ichika headed back. Finishing up her training, the following day. The auditions got changed, It was the following day Instead of tomorrow. So Ichika only had four hours left to train, there she devoted herself to train. Alongside her friends, helping her.

When the Auditions came to be, Ichika barely made It In time. Entering with the Heavenly Kimono coord, passing with flying colours. Getting to be the KiraKira girl; although she was disappointed In herself. Ichika felt as If she could have done something better.

First Arc - Star Anis

In the middle of the day, a new announcement came In. Making Ichika excited as she thought It would be a new audition, realising It was but It was a special one Indeed. It was the new Star Anis Auditions. Ichika was fairly new so she didn't know If she could get In, but this year they weren't choosing the popular ones but those who could at least do a Appeal and there aura appearing when on stage with the Top Idols as It was almost Impossible to do. Ichika was quite determined, and she asked Cera for Advice. As Cera being the First Year Student who actually can keep up with the dances Star Anis has, Ichika thought asking her for help would work. And It did, leading Ichika to barely do It.

Ichika, miraculously gets In. Although It wasn't shocking as most First Year students tried It out as they were more determined than the Second Years. Ichika passes with flying colors, and then learns that Star Anis Isn't so 'Happy' as It seems. She has to go through, Intense and horrible training. Only the best can get Into Star Anis, she thought, Insulting herself as she thought that she couldn't do It. That day she bumped Into Kou, where he gave her advice she thought she wouldn't ever get. When he did, she realized that they weren't doing It because she was bad; but because they believed In her.

The Beach

When Ichika woke up to get ready for a other day, she saw a Letter. The Letter was from her Cousin In America, she got surprised as she read It. It was Informing her that her Cousin won Tickets to the best Beach In Japan, although, her cousin couldn't make It she gave the Tickets to Ichika so she could take her sister and her friends, the surprised Ichika accepted the Tickets. And soon Invited nearly everyone, although when they arrived. It was seen that the Beach was super dirty, not only was Kids destroying the Place but Adults too. The troubled Ichika didn't know what to do, until Cera mentioned a Idea to actually clean up the Place. Then Ichika got the Idea, to start up a Event. Where everybody will clean the place to look for treasures! And on the end of It, they will do a concert.

Although, only Ichika, Cera, Karin, Ayumi, Lala, Sapphire was there. They needed more people, as they thought on who to Invite they were surpised by lots of there friends. Itsuki, Haru, Kou, Mitsuo, Hina, Hiyori, Mielle, Chiyo, Miyuki, and Sakurano, Taka, Miyu, and more. They all agreed to help as they wanted to do something, from there they started handing out Posters. In the end no one came expect from them, the sad Ichika once again had no clue what to do. Then she saw a amazing Idea. She got the Idea to pull off the first 'Sea' concert, everyone was confused until she explained. They will have the concert In the clean Ocean, with swimsuits. They will dance with all the dolphins and much more! Although, Karin asked how to do It since there was no way they could call the Animals of the Sea to help. Miyuki, and Chiyo stood forward. With a grin, Both of them soon started singing a refreshing Melody, which called all the Animals of the Sea. Helping them, to get closer. As they went Into the Ocean and started dancing with the Animals, a crowd of Fans were made. Then all of them shouted, We need to make this Beach clean again! Please help us? As they did. The concert ending with cheers, all the Fans helped them clean up the Beach. As sunset came, they were finally finished. Enjoying the view, and the clean Ocean. As they heard someone walking from behind them, they all turned around to see Ichika's and Sapphire's Cousin smiling with Sakura Seki.
