Takagi was one of Penny's fellow patients at Dr Lem's geek rehab clinic in Geek Addiction. He was the resident hottie the girls swooned over, though Penny found him suspicious. More than once he tried to get her to talk about what really happened in Romania (Lesson One: Vampires), but then offered to help Penny investigate the alleged experiments taking place in the clinic's basement. He first tried to seduce Dr Lem, but later, after Penny disappeared, he just barged in and cracked some skulls.

He may be secretive, but not enough that he won't engage in some truth-based mockery, like when he made fun of Penny for comparing him to Donald Pierce and asked her if she believed he was a cyborg working for shady rich people. As was revealed at the end of Geek Addiction, Penny's outburst turned out to be surprisingly close to the truth. Also, 'Takagi' isn't his real name, and while there's mention of other aliases, he prefers to be addressed as Essex. He's generally disdainful, can be pretty brutal, and is into shibari, though he doesn't show much love for his subs.

INSPIRATION

Takagi wasn't really inspired by someone else's work, but the addition of shibari helped develop him.
