Dr. Anurag Bhargava, co-founder of Jan Swasthya Sahyog (JSS), shared insights about Tuberculosis in India and how malnourishment and poverty have perpetuated TB and even Diabetes.

Caste Workshop led by Karthik and Balmurli of Bay Area's Ambedkar King Study Circle (AKSC), an engaged session where attendees shared how Caste manifests in the US. Some strategies to take the anti-caste movement forward were discussed.

A riveting discussion on Gender issues and Patriarchy, where young AIDers raised pertinent questions about last names, observations about the roles they see in parents and families they see around, with the youngest volunteering questioning: "Why can't a girl child carry forward a family name?"

AID Development Co-ordinator, Aravinda, shared feedback from the attendees of the Youth Conference with their promises of keeping the spirit of AID going. Aravinda also shared some insights about the quality assessments of projects but also stressed that we continue to connect with our Project and Program partners as a community to support and motivate each other

AID's newest Jeevansathi, Dr. Vasundhara Rangaswamy, shared key observations about factors like malnourishment, poverty, technology gaps that continue to impact health of the poorest communities in India. The quality of healthcare depends on how sensitive the care providers are... working with multiple partners across India she is documenting and trying solutions that can be implemented in these low resource settings. 

AID Jeevansathi, Kiran Vissa, shared updates on the Farmers issues and how the reports and efforts by AID partners is leading to some solutions but the plight of the farmers is still very challenging..

AID founder, Ravi Kuchimanchi, shared the creative ideas used during the early years of AID... alongside some historical facts and ideas for growing with non chapter based volunteers and AID alumni.
