AID aims to address the critical issue of food security in South Sudan, a country currently facing a declared famine by the United Nations due to a severe shortage of food. To tackle this challenge, the project will focus on enhancing agricultural practices through the vocational school. Presently, South Sudanese rely on manual labor and hand tools for cultivating the land, resulting in limited agricultural productivity. By providing agricultural training using modern techniques and technology, the project seeks to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary for mechanized agriculture. Despite possessing ample free land and abundant water resources, South Sudan's agricultural potential remains untapped due to a lack of expertise. With proper training, however, the country has the capacity, as projected by the World Bank, to not only achieve food self-sufficiency but also become a source of food for the entire Sub-Saharan African region. By increasing agricultural productivity and reducing dependence on external food aid, AID aims to alleviate food insecurity and create a sustainable solution for South Sudan's long-term development.
