The productions that The Walt Disney Company have made throughout the decades range from a variety of different genres and brands, both animated and live-action. Disney's first mainstream animated feature-film was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), and has since gone on to make a myriad of animated films that are beloved by many, such as Dumbo (1941), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Mulan (1998), Frozen (2013), and Moana (2016).
Disney's recognizable partnership with Pixar Animation Studios, which later became a subsection of the company, allowed for computer animated films to be release to the popular appeal of audiences, including Toy Story (1995), Finding Nemo (2003), Ratatouille (2007), Inside Out (2015), Coco (2017), and most recently Onward (2020).
Disney has also dabbled with making live-action movies, with one of their most popular film series being the Pirates of the Caribbean series, with the first installment being Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). Disney has also remade many of their original animated films, including 101 Dalmatians (1996), Alice in Wonderland (2010), Beauty and the Beast (2017), and The Lion King (2019)
Due to the Disney Channel's launch in 1983, Disney produced and created several television shows for audiences, including Kim Possible (2002-2007), The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005-2008), Hanna Montana (2006-2011), and Phineas and Ferb (2007-2015).
Disney's acquisition of ABC in 1995 allowed them to produce television shows such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (1999–2002, 2009), Dancing with the Stars (2005-), and Grey's Anatomy (2005-).
There have been several mergers that Disney has partaken in that have allowed Disney to produce more films and television shows. Disney's purchase of Marvel Entertainment in 2009 allowed them to produce movies based off the Marvel Comics characters, such as Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019), many of which leading to massive box office successes. Their acquisition of Lucasfilm Ltd. in 2012 allowed them access to the Star Wars franchise, with new saga films being produced starting with Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), as well as the creation of new spinoff films, such as Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) Disney also recently purchased 21st Century Fox in 2019, allowing them access to a bunch of new content, such as the X-Men film series and the popular movie Avatar (2009), among others.
