I. Develop and share your CoP Recruitment Announcement.
Review the CoP Proposals that have been shared by your peers. Refine your own proposal and upload it into the CoP Proposals folder (if you haven't already done so).
Using your proposal as a guidel, write the recruitment announcement for your CoP (you may make a copy of this template if you'd like). This is the announcement that will be sent out to eligible participants encouraging them to apply/register.
Include your college name, CoP name, an overview of the CoP’s purpose that describes its goal(s) and alignment (college/district/system), outcomes (i.e. artifacts), eligibility (who can sign up), schedule (session dates/times), incentive, include your name/title as the facilitator, and explain how and when to apply by. If possible, include the link to the registration form.
Share your recruitment announcement by December 10th at 10:00am in the CoP Recruitment Announcements folder.
II. Complete the Living Into Our Values Activity
Follow the instructions on this activity guide, developed and shared by Brené Brown.
Reflect on your experience completing the activity guide. After identifying two of your core values, how does this influence how you see your behaviors/choices? How might you use this activity in your CoP as a reflection point for change?

Pre-Session Activity
Before Session 2, please complete the following activity.
Step 1. Create a free Gamma account. In Gamma, select Generate and then produce an AI-generated outline for a presentation, web page, or document promoting your AI CoP. Consider using an adaptation of the prompt below:
Produce a friendly and inspiring single page website announcing the call for applications for a Spring 2025 Gen AI Community of Practice for faculty that will support them with preparing students for life and work in the AI era. Include the following sections: Overview, Session Dates (there will be 7 75-minute sessions), Key Details, Final Deliverables, Eligibility, Expectations, Questions?, and How to Apply.
Step 2: Examine the generated content. What did Gamma do well? What did Gamma not do so well? How might the generated content inspire you? Jot down some key thoughts and have them available for Session 2.

Pre-Session Activity
In the spirit of play and exploration, I'd like to ask each of you to use the AI image generator of your choice to create a Zoom background image and have it in place for our session on Tuesday. You may craft any image you'd like — get creative! When you check-in on Tuesday, you'll quickly introduce yourself, share what tool you used, tell us about the image you generated and why, and anything you learned from the process.
Need Some Support?
For those of you who are new to generative AI or image generators, here is some guidance to support your discovery. If you need help, you're more than welcome to reach out to me.
Picking a tool: There are many options when it comes to AI image generators. You may wish to choose one of the options below (there are lots more beyond that list!), particularly if you already have an account for one of these tools.
Image sizing tip: Depending on the tool you use, you may need to prompt the AI to generate an image that has a 16:9 aspect ratio.
A Few Tool Options:
DALL-E by OpenAI - Alternatively, if you have a ChatGPT account, you may access DALL-E by signing into ChatGPT, then in the left column select Explore GPTs, scroll down to By ChatGPT and select DALL-E.
Adobe Firefly - Available to anyone with a free Adobe account (although features are limited for free accounts). I recommend trying to sign in with your institutional email. If your college has an Adobe site license, you will be re-routed to your college's sign in portal and you'll have access to lots of premium Adobe tools.
Canva - A popular graphic design tool that integrates DALL-E and other image generators into its interface.
