Welcome to the 25-26 season!
Albany is a small city (~15 km², population ~20k) in the Alameda County in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. We have three elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. Our famous neighbor to the south is Berkeley, California.Â
Science Olympiad is an American elementary school, middle school, and high school team competition in which students compete in 'events' pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Over 6,700 teams from 50 U.S. states compete each year. There are multiple levels of competition; invitational, regional, state, and national. 'Invitational' tournaments serve as practice for regional and state competitions. Teams that excel at the regional competitions advance to the state, and then to the national level. Winners later receive several kinds of awards ranging from medals to trophies.
Science Olympiad is fully consistent with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum, and we try our best to make it a STEAM curriculum with A standing for Arts.
