The AHS PTSO is a sales-free PTSO. This means we will never ask you or your students to directly sell items for the purpose of fundraising. Your years of hocking coupon books, frozen pizza kits, cookie dough and gift wrapping (to name a few) for PTO are over. Those types of fundraisers are typically reserved for high school clubs and student organizations at AHS.
Instead of fundraising through the typical sales methods, the PTSO asks that each family consider donating $25/family to the PTSO. If every family contributed this amount, we would have all of the funding needed to support our school and the staff that makes things happen. We also welcome donations from local businesses. We work with volunteers like you and local vendors to support things like:
Welcome Back and End of Year Teacher Breakfasts
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week efforts
Supplementary funding for teacher meals and snacks during school events (like Back to School night and Hot Cocoa days) and parent-teacher conferences and for morale boost throughout the year
Teacher grants for educational support that will touch a broad range of students in the school(i.e.- quad copters for the robotics elective class, software licenses and class materials for teachers, materials for special projects for classroom education, technology enhancements, etc).
We realize $5 is a stretch for many families while others can easily donate $200. Every donation we receive helps!
The PTSO will collect donations at Open House and Back to School Night. Parents and guardians may also send in cash or check donations that can be given to the front office staff during normal school hours. Please label your donation in an envelope marked for the PTSO. Checks should be made out to AHS PTSO.
We now can accept online donations at any time through MySchoolBucks! Look for "AHS PTSO Donation" after you enter the site and log in to your account. If you are having trouble finding it, enter "AHS PTSO" into the search box and you can access it that way.
We also rely on donations of time! Set up, clean up, decorations, serving food, etc. are all needed throughout the year.
