The Concert Band is comprised of students in grades 9-12. The Concert Band performs advanced repertoire, which challenges students to further develop their musicality and technique on their instruments. The Concert Band will perform concerts throughout the year as well as participate in the SCDBA CPA (Concert Performance Assessment). Students are also eligible for honors credit.
The Eagle Marching Band is an award-winning performing group with a long and proud tradition of excellence. The Eagle Marching Band represents the school and community in the performances that the band gives throughout the state. During marching season (August-October), the competitive marching band rehearses after school, performs at all home football games, competes in competitions, and may perform in parades or at other community events. Membership is open to band members in grades 8-12. Middle school band members must pass a small audition that consists of scales and part of a prepared solo.
The Screamin' Eagle Jazz Band is dedicated to the study of various musical styles in the jazz and popular tradition (Swing, Latin, funk, rock, ballad, etc.) Participation in the Jazz Band is open to all students enrolled in band class. Instrumentation is limited to the traditional big band set-up, with occasional adjustments as needed. The Screamin' Eagle Jazz Band meets after school from 4:00-5:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays after marching band season ends. Membership is open to band students in grades 7-12.
The Eagle Winter Guard is a highly successful auditioned group that uses dance and equipment to portray a show. The group serves as a natural extension of the marching band color guard activity, however, there is no experience required for this ensemble. Shows are performed inside gymnasiums on floor coverings and are usually between 4-6 minutes long.
The Winter Guard travels and competes in local and regional competitions throughout the late winter and early spring seasons. Practices are typically 2-3 times a week after-school.
