This #AHPsDay we are keen to create a collective presence of our unique skills and attributes that you value about your professional self to positively promote our AHP Careers with a wider audience.

How to Get Involved

1. On your smart phone go to https://mytrueselfie.com/

2. Follow the simple process to take a photo of you as your best professional self and more AHPs in uniform the better!

3. Add the #AHPsDay hashtag and your profession and then decorate your selfie with the qualities, skills and attributes you admire most about your professional self.

4. Share it on social media

'On the Frontline' AHPs have a social media presence across facebook, Instagram and twitter. The handle and associated podcast series 'AHPs off the record' is run by Ena Ankutse and Jo Siddall, themselves London based frontline physiotherapists, to promote all the good work AHPs do on the frontline. They have kindly shared two of their podcasts with us to show how podcasts can be used a s a great career resource to inspire future and existing AHPs with their career aspirations. Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and language therapists provide life-changing treatment, support and care for children and adults who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing.You'll help people who, for physical or psychological reasons, have problems speaking and communicating. Patients range from children whose speech is slow to develop, to older people whose ability to speak has been impaired by illness or injury. It also includes treatment for those who have difficulty with eating or swallowing.


Podiatry

As a Podiatrist you will work with people’s feet and legs. You'll diagnose and treat abnormalities and offer professional advice on care of feet and legs to prevent foot problems. In the NHS, you'll see many patients at high risk of amputation, such as those suffering from arthritis or diabetes. Podiatry is an exciting and varied career. It offers you the chance to make a difference, a high degree of flexibility and excellent employment prospects. You’ll work with patients every day to help improve their care and their lives.
