Junior Team Tennis is a program of the United States Tennis Association. Our team plays against other clubs from the Bay Area. We have an average of 6 matches per season, played at home or at a nearby club.
A JTT match consists of 4 rounds of play. Each round is made up of one singles match and one doubles match. Participants play 4 or 6 games depending on their division. Orange ball participants play 4 games on a 60ft short court with an orange progression ball. Green ball participants play on a full sized 78 ft court with a green progression ball. Yellow ball participants play on a full sized 78 ft court with a regular (live) tennis ball. Sets are no-ad scoring and all rounds are timed with the 10U divisions being 20 minutes and the 12U/14U/18U divisions being 30 minutes. A round ends with the completion of a set or a ”timed out” result. In the event of a timed out result players stop and the person/team who is leading in the game gets the game. At the end of the match the total number of games won determines the overall match score.
