COMP TEAM
Eligible players who are ready to make a commitment to tennis may join our Comp Team. These players are typically working towards playing USTA Tournaments, a spot on their high school and possibly their college teams. As such, the training will be more intense than in clinics, but still appropriate for the age level of the players on each team. These players will be expected to attend practices and matches regularly. To be eligible for Comp Team, players must (1) be at least 8 years old, (2) be able to pass the Orange Ball Challenge (see FAQ's), and (3) have completed at least 2 seasons of Junior Team Tennis OR at have competed in at least two USTA tournaments. Players will attend at least two out of three practices per week. Practices will include skills development, fitness, tactical/mental training and match play. Players will also compete in at least 2 matches per month. These may include any of the following: JTT, USTA Tournaments, Interclub (against other clubs) and Intraclub (against teammates). If JTT is in season during the Comp Team season (Fall/Spring), players will be expected to play on a JTT team. Joining Comp Team means that players have decided to make tennis a priority for that season. Teammates are counting on each other to attend practices and show up for matches.
