I’m Dr. Aleksandra Herman, a cognitive neuroscientist researching interoception, brain–body (mis)communication, and decision-making, translating cutting-edge research into engaging public experiences.

What I do

I investigate how bodily signals (interoception) influence human behaviour and decision-making, and the neural mechanisms underlying these effects. I also study what happens when body–brain communication malfunctions, for example in chronic pain conditions.

Alongside research, I enjoy translating neuroscience into engaging talks and workshops for public audiences.
