I graduated from the highly regarded Sussex Neuroscience PhD Program, where I worked with Professors Theodora Duka and Hugo Critchley to explore the emotional and physiological causes of impulsive behaviour in humans. I then became a postdoctoral researcher at Royal Holloway, University of London, working with Professor Manos Tsakiris. My research there centered on interoception and its impact on decision-making, and the neural pathways involved in our sense of internal bodily sensations.
Now, I am an Assistant Professor (DSc Habil.) at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology in the Laboratory of Brain Imaging, where I continue to examine the relationship between the body and brain. I am a Maria Skłodowska Curie Acion (MSCA) Research Fellow, investigating how persistent pain affects daily decisions-making and it's consequences for treatment. I conduct my research in collaboration with Prof. Tasha Stanton from UniSA, Australia.
