The Individual Differences in Groups and Organizations (INDiGO) Lab is directed by Dr. Alex Harris-Watson. We study the behavior and performance of individuals at work, with a particular emphasis on the role of traits and individuals in collaborative contexts.
We study how individual differences (e.g., personality traits and intelligence) impact critical work behavior and performance. Ongoing work in this area addresses foundational questions such as how different traits come together to affect job performance. We also aim to advance trait measurement by applying best practice psychometric methods.
We study collaborative relationships central to the future of work. In the INDiGO lab, we define collaboration broadly, including teams, leadership, as well as partnerships between humans and artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, we study AI that is socially interactive (e.g., robots, chatbots) to better understand how people perceive and engage with these agents.
