Principal Investigator: Dr. Ahana Chakraborty
Ahana is a theoretical physicist interested in the non-equilibrium dynamics of open quantum systems and disordered systems. The Quantum Dynamics and Information group broadly focuses on the interaction between quantum matter and light (both ultrafast laser and quantum light in THz cavities) in condensed matter systems, as well as in quantum information field studying entanglement dynamics in quantum circuits and developing non-equilibrium field theoretic formalisms for open quantum systems.

Graduate Students:
Ankur Pal
Ankur Pal completed his Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physical Sciences at IISER Kolkata. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Louisiana State University. He works on projects involving random monitored quantum circuits and the use of spectator qubits to optimize dynamical decoupling sequences.
The group has open positions for motivated graduate students interested to work in the interdisciplinary fields of theoretical condensed matter physics and quantum information science. Please feel free to contact at ahanachakraborty@lsu.edu for more information.

Postdoctoral Associates:
Ilia specializes in electronic transport phenomena and dynamics, especially in topological and disordered systems. His work also explores properties of strongly correlated moiré materials. Ilia earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2025.
