Professor/Principal Investigator
Prof. Andri Hardiansyah is a Professor at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), specializing in functional nanomaterials and graphene with applications in nanobiomaterials technology-healthcare and the environment. He earned his Bachelor’s (2010) and Master’s degrees (2011) in Materials Science and Engineering from the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB)-Indonesia and completed his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST)-Taiwan in 2015. After returning to Indonesia, he pursued a career in nanomaterials research, progressing from Research Associate to Principal Researcher in 2024, when he was also inaugurated as the youngest Professors at BRIN.
Prof. Hardiansyah’s research focuses on the development of nanomaterials for biomaterials, (tissue engineering, drug delivery, dental material), environmental remediation and detection (biomolecules and Radar). His contributions include the liposomes formulation for drug delivery systems, design of graphene nanocomposites for detecting disease biomarkers such as dopamine, the application of graphene hydrogels in regenerative medicine, and the use of graphene–TiO₂ photocatalysts for pollutant degradation. He has authored or co-authored of 80 scientific publications, mentored undergraduate, medical specialist to doctoral students at several leading Indonesian universities, and actively participates in international collaborations through programs in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and France.
In recognition of his contributions, Prof. Hardiansyah received the Séjours Scientifiques de Haut Niveau from French Government, Merck Young Scientist Award in 2021 and was formally conferred the title of Full Professor in December 2024. He is a member of national research associations including HIMPENINDO and the Indonesian Researchers Association (PPI). His vision is to advance nanotechnology for health and environmental sustainability while fostering international collaboration and mentoring the next generation of Indonesian researchers.
