Aqua Regna
Aqua Regna
Solution
Aqua Regna is a technology that helps farmers manage their irrigation and soil conditions more efficiently. It consists of two main parts: hardware and software.
The hardware part includes different components. First module has an LCD screen that shows information about the water pump, such as how much water is being pumped and the flow rate. Another component called NodeMCU, which helps to connect the water pump and LCD to the internet. It receives data from the water pump and sends it to the LCD for display. The data will also shown on a mobile application. It will be controlled through Wi-Fi. With the mobile app, farmers can turn the water pump on or off from anywhere.
The second module focuses on soil and atmospheric conditions. It has a NodeMCU that connects sensors like soil moisture, soil ph, atmospheric moisture and many more sensors and an LCD screen. The soil sensors are placed in the soil to detect its characteristics. The NodeMCU collects this data and displays it on the LCD screen and the mobile app. This helps farmers know if the soil needs watering or not.
This data will also be transferred to Aqua Regna’s another mobile application and will automatically be filled in the columns of soil moisture, soil ph, atmospheric moisture etc. Columns like area of field, type of crop and type of soil are to be filled by the farmer. The system then calculates the amount of water required using a formula provided by Punjab Agriculture University. This information will be then send to the first module, and it will automatically pump the recommended amount of water.
Overall, Aqua Regna helps farmers remotely control their water pump and monitor water usage. It also provides information about soil characteristics to assist in making irrigation decisions. By using this technology, farmers can save water, avoid overwatering, and ensure their crops receive the right amount of water.
Benifits
Aqua Regna aims to solve following sustainable development goals:-
Clean water and sanitation: As our project is based on preventing depletion of fresh groundwater and clean water to use in daily life and sanitation
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Through this innovative ideation that we aim to industrialise, I hope to provide modern infrastructure to the primitive modes of agriculture
Sustainable cities and communities: After Aqua Regna proves to be successful in the market , I hope to set aside a fraction of our profit as donation to work for the welfare of farming communities
Responsible Consumption and Production: It is based on prevention of misuse of water.
By providing appropriate amount of water on the basis of many factors, Aqua Regna aims to increase the yield of the crop.
How the solution is different from other solutions
Aqua Regna is different from other solutions because it lets farmers control their irrigation system from anywhere using a mobile app. This means they don't have to be physically present at the farm to manage the water for their crops. Also, Aqua Regna pays attention to both water and soil conditions. By keeping an eye on the soil, it helps farmers decide when and how much water to give their crops, so they can make smarter choices.

Risks Associated with the Solution
There could be risks like technical issue which include fault with sensors like moisture, water flow etc. which may result in inaccurate results and this futher may result to either over irrigation or under irrigation and hence low crop yield and low profit for the farmers.
How the solution will be implemented
Its installation process is very easy as we just need to take out the main module of Aqua Regna out of the box and connect the pipes with the water pump. Then we need to connect it to the power supply and our main module will be ready. There is no need to to set up the second module as it will automatically connect with the netqork and it will be attached with a stick. The farmers need to carry the stick to different places and measure the soil moisture value.
Evaluation of the Solution
We could compare the crop yield and water usage with other methods to know its evaluation.
