2nd LTTA - Finland

21.04.2026 - Day 1 of the Finnish LTTA

The day began with the official welcoming ceremony for the teams from the 5 schools participating in the project. Yesterday we already had a warm welcome from the Finnish families where the students are staying.

After lunch in the school canteen, we took a guided tour by the School! What a fantastic School with great conditions!

After that, the 1st workshop of the week, "Sustainable Fashion" took place, where students had the opportunity to work in groups to understand the importance of fashion having environmental concerns. 

22.04.2026 - Day 2 of the Finnish LTTA 

Today was dominated by two important tasks. In the morning, teachers from partner schools participated in the workshop "Pedagogical Strategies for Inclusion," in order to learn more about methodologies that promote Inclusion through activities related to sustainability. In the afternoon, we visited  the farm "Quinta d'Arminho", a good example of environmental practices in terms of agriculture, local economy, biodiversity and sustainability. Was also possible to see how portuguese students from 10th grade work in groups, autonomously. 

23.04.2026 - Day 3 of the Finnish LTTA

Today, the activities took place at Sipoonjoen yhtenäiskoulu, a Finnish school that is a partner in the project, located in the small town of Sipoo, 40 minutes from Helsinki.

After a guided tour of the school, the students got their hands dirty and, in mixed teams, carried out various practical activities aimed at creating an educational game related to the theme of the environment. The activities allowed them to develop several skills, such as collaborative work, creativity, socialization, promotion of the English language, among others. It was another well-spent day, rich in practical activities, sharing, friendship and, most importantly, happy and more attentive young people, better equipped to promote environmental sustainability. 

24.04.2026 - Day 4 of the Finnish LTTA

Today, activities took place in Nuuksio National Park, near Helsinki, where we were given a guided tour in nature, with exploratory activities based on observing the environment.

The students greatly enjoyed the activities developed at the Haltia Finnish Nature Centre. There, in mixed teams, after reflecting on the various problems affecting planet Earth, the students presented proposals for solving them.

The highlight of this activity was the "campfire hut," where students and teachers had the opportunity to socialize and enjoy an excellent Finnish tradition around the campfire, grilling and tasting some delicious Finnish sausages.

The day ended in style, with a farewell party with the special participation of the host families. Ir was a celebration of great sharing and many conflicting feelings: joy, enthususm and nostalgia!
