In a world where things have always been open and free, what is one to do when reality is ripped away and life is locked behind closed doors? When COVID-19 broke out (Character A) and her friends had their jokes but as time went on, the threat became more immanent.
The country was already in disarray due to the past election and the next session coming up. We'd be under a new leadership. Though the middle class gets a say, it doesn't actually matter. The new leader of the "Free World" is going to need to figure out how to handle the outbreak and the people affected by it. (Character A) is a young adult that had just been coming up in the world when the pandemic hit. The borders closed, boats and planes weren't leaving ports and the trade routes were shutting down. The world was in a state of panic. Moving forward five years (Character A) is faced with many challenges in order to survive throughout the aftermath of the outbreak. This wasn't your traditional sickness where the hospitals were able to contain everyone and a vaccination was discovered in a few years.
In the beginning there was a lot of hope. As the days moved sluggishly forward that hope dwindled and eventually died out. You see the vaccinations started rolling out a few weeks before the one year mark of the outbreak. The medical workers and approved personal were the only ones able to receive the immunity. The elderly started to be cleared from quarantine a few weeks after the initial rounds went out. A few months passed and the military members, school teachers, and other high ranking officials became eligible. That was the worst of it.
When the schools opened back up completely they went in full force. Full occupancy, no distancing or any other precautions taken. The vaccine was out. The immunity was here. What was there to worry about?
June 23rd, 2026.
It's been over seven years since the outbreak. Six years, six months, one week, and two days since the first vaccine was issued. That's when it all started for real. The world thought that COVID-19 was the threat but what came after was much, much worse. These weren't human and they weren't undead. They became monsters.
The vaccination had trace amounts of an un-released chemical. The reason for the chemical staying unreleased was that it "would prevent mutations and chemical warfare." At least that's what the new leader told everyone. Now, we scrape, fight and scavenge for every bit of food, shelter, and ammo that we can. The unknown chemical caused reactions in the brains of some patients. Not everyone was affected and some were able to pass peacefully in their sleep without ever needing know what was going on. The Others, however, were beyond deadly. The chemical imbalance of the human brain mixed caused by the vaccine started to mutate the muscle in humans after six to eight months. By the time anyone was able to realize what was going on over half the population of the earth had been vaccinated.
All that was left to do was run, kill, and hide.
In this Post Pandemic journey players will take on the role of (Character A) a strong female character who was an older teen entering adulthood during the starting days of the COVID-19 Outbreak that began to affect the world drastically in 2019. (Character A) follows a story of love, life and loss while fighting through challenges like seeing her friends taken over by a brain mutation, the weight of killing another living being in the form of a human and more. Enjoy this RPG on PC upon its full and final release.
