Global intercultural connections and exchange are becoming increasingly vital to societal and technological progress. However, in-person academic and social exchange can be difficult given global health crises, sustainability concerns over fossil fuel reliant transportation, and national policies governing the free movement of individuals. Podcasts provide an opportunity to connect through space and time in a way that is accessible to many. This workshop is designed to describe the process for approaching interviewees, developing narratives, and creating questions that are both effective and ethical. Our members will share the knowledge they have gathered from real-world experience producing and promoting international and intercultural audio content. Attendees will practice developing questions, interviewing partners, and reflecting on their experiences.
