As the final step of the Erasmus+ project Against All Odds, each partner school — in France, Croatia, and Finland — organized an Open Public Event to share the project’s results with their local communities.
These events aimed to disseminate the outcomes of 18 months of collaborative work focused on probability, gambling risks, and addiction prevention. They provided students with the opportunity to present their creations — games, posters, short films, and digital materials — while developing public speaking and communication skills.
Through exhibitions, presentations, and discussions, the Open Public Events celebrated international cooperation, highlighted the educational impact of the project, and encouraged a broader awareness of responsible gaming and informed decision-making across Europe.
On October 15, the Electrotechnical and Transport Vocational School Osijek marked Erasmus Days with a series of engaging activities and exhibitions dedicated to the ongoing Erasmus+ projects. As part of the celebration, the event highlighted the dissemination of results from the project “Against All Odds.”
During a special exhibition, visitors could view creative works produced by students throughout the project, which aims to raise awareness among young people about the dangers and consequences of all forms of addiction. The exhibition visually represented the project’s central message—resilience, awareness, and making positive life choices.
In addition to the exhibition, students who participated in the “Against All Odds” mobilities delivered presentations sharing their impressions and experiences from educational trips to Finland and France. Through photos, storytelling, and short films made during their stay in Finland, they conveyed their reflections on collaboration, cultural learning, and the skills they gained. These presentations captured the spirit of Erasmus+—openness, curiosity, and intercultural understanding.
The public event held at Paul Hazard High School showcased the outcomes of the Erasmus+ project Against All Odds to the educational community. Parents, teachers, and school administrators were invited to explore an exhibition highlighting the project’s journey, objectives, and key achievements.
Students led the event by presenting their slideshows, illustrating the activities carried out in Croatia, France, and Finland, as well as their learning about probability, gambling risks, and addiction prevention.
The exhibition, enriched with posters, photos, and videos, provided an opportunity to celebrate the work accomplished and to share the project’s impact on students, teachers, and the school community. It remained in the school hall for the whole week of Erasmus Days.
The public event in Porin lukio, Finland took place in early November during the school day. This week was dedicated to awareness of different kinds of addictions so our event fit the theme well. All the teachers, students and parents were invited to visit.
The students who participated in the Erasmus+ project Against All Odds were there to tell the visitors about their experience with this project and also host a few games to demonstrate the small odds of winning in gambling. A few posters made during the project were also presented for the visitors to see and familiarize themselves with the topic.
The event was successful in making some of the visitors actually calculate their odds of winning in the games and getting them to think about the risks of gambling. In addition, pamphlets on where to get help for gambling problems were available for visitors to take which also promoted our goal of raising awareness about this issue.
